X-Fest 2012

X-Fest 2012 is being held over the coming Bank Holiday weekend from 5th-7th May at SantaPod Raceway near Northampton.

There's going to be many events taking place, but ones of interest to us are the King Of Dirt and the BMX events (Lords of Dirt, Street and Park in particular) 

Adam Williams is riding in the MTB and James Jones and Chad Punchard will be riding as well. James and Chad are both well known local BMX riders and good friends of the bike hub. We help them out as often as we can, and make sure they keep on riding. Good luck to them!

Weekend Riding

Went to the Forest Of Dean to ride for the first time in about 15 years. There's been some trail building since I was there last :)
Seven DH tracks and a couple of XC loops coupled with sunny weather made for a great days riding.
We rode all of the DH tracks, some of them a couple of times but the push back up the hill took its toll and we gave up after about 6 hours. We'll be back though.

Easter Weekend Opening Hours

Our Easter weekend hours are :-

Good Friday - Closed

Saturday       - Open 10am - 5pm

Sunday         - Closed (as usual)

Monday        - Closed

Back to normal then from Tuesday

What have we been up to?

Not posted much lately so just a quick update. 

We've got some new bits and pieces in. Some surfboards and wetsuits and some bike parts (brakes, wheels etc) so have a look on the relavent pages and give us a call for more details.

We managed to find time to ride after work on Tuesday and on Sunday, so heres some pictures from the last couple of rides.

Shirt Shop

We've been asked if we sell bike hub clothing for nearly a year now so we've finally caved and opened an online shop. There are some funky designs to choose from and we'll be adding more in the future. 

Anyone whose met Sprout the Shop Dog will recognise the uncanny resemblance on the above shirt.

Great weather at the weekend so we did some of this before work on Saturday

Back to the shop for breakfast, work, then home to watch Wales beat England in the rugby!

Early Closing

We will be closing a bit earlier on Saturday because of the rugby. So if you're coming to see us then make sure you call in before 3.45pm.

Normal service will resume on Monday.

Clyne Valley MTB Trails

I Managed to make it to the Clyne Valley MTB trails meeting last night. There was some positive talk from the council employee regarding the XC trail so we hope to see some progress "soon".

With regards to Moos and Clyne there was less news and more speculation. Clyne Jumps may have some progress in the near future, i'll post more when I hear it. No major news on Moo's yet.

Singletrack have "Fresh Goods Friday" we have "New Stuff Wednesday" not as catchy, but I couldn't find anything that went with Wednesday. This is some of the pimpy stuff now in the shop.
