Gower Bike Ride : 16th September

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) Cymru is calling on people in Swansea to get on their bikes and join the South Wales Bike Ride.

The event, which has run for over 25 years, will be held on 16th September. More than a thousand are expected to saddle up and help to raise £50,000 for the vital work of BHF Cymru. For families and beginners, the traditional and ever-popular 12 and 28 mile routes are a favourite, but if riders want to challenge themselves, they can take on the new 46 mile route that was introduced last year. The routes will take cyclists around Swansea and the Gower Peninsula in what promises to be a fun day for all the family.

Event organiser Hannah Townsend said: “We are calling on the people of Swansea to get on their bikes and sign up to this fantastic event, which is supported by Santander. It is one of the region’s most popular events and we always get great feedback. With 12, 28 and 46 mile routes to choose from, there is something for everyone, whether you are a serious cyclist or a young rider.

“I guarantee people taking part will have fun so why not sign up today and help us in the fight against Wales’ biggest killer.”

Entry is £10 for adults and £5 for children. For more information, call 0800 169 3672, email northwestwales@bhf.org.uk   or visit bhf.org.uk/southwales
