Go sign this petition. In a year where the rich and influential have denied the upgrading of the existing open air seafront facility, we are now in a situation where the council are denying change of use to an indoor skate/BMX/scooter facility. It's an empty unit on an industrial estate, better it has something inside that benefits the community for their mental and physical heath. Perhaps if it were a wine bar or another car sales then it wouldn't be a problem.

In the past month at the Olympic games, we have won 5 medals in BMX and skateboarding, British Cycling have announced new plans and funding for BMX freestyle. Yet our council are prepared to deny us a facility that could be open within a fortnight. We have an Olympic squad member born and living in Swansea but he has to travel to Cardiff and further afield to train.

Surely the second city of Wales would like to compete with our capital for facilities or are we once again to fall short (literally in the case of our "national pool") . What will it take for the so called leader of the council to intervene? There's a long history of this council and the so called leaders only seeming to do what's best for them and their cronies. For once can they try and do best for the community as a whole? Do I have to take up golf so I can rub shoulders with people of influence? Is freemasonry the way forward? I implore the people who supposedly care for our communities and those who care for our physical and mental health, share this, sign this petition. Lobby your councillor,MP and AM, get your voice heard. Welsh Labour Swansea Council Tonia Antoniazzi MP Welsh Assembly The Labour Party

Swansea Skatepark

An application to replace the pathetic half pipe in West Cross has been submitted to the Swansea Planning Department.

Swansea desperately needs a proper concrete skatepark.  We are severely lacking in facilities compared to other places in Wales and the UK.

However we need you to show support for the project.  Please follow the blue portal link below and post a comment or just tick the "support" button to help us achieve the goal of a brilliant new skatepark which will be accessible to everyone. You don't have to live in Swansea to show your support.

Do it NOW!!!!!!

Maverick Skateparks is at Visit Swansea Bay, Mumbles and Gower.
🗳️ The Skate Park Mumbles planning application is now LIVE. Please take 5mins to go show some support for this project and post a comment on the portal here: bit.ly/2Q3gB7R

Blimey, almost a whole year since our last post. Well then since then we've ridden another winter DH Series and a whole Summer DH series, managed not to embarrass myself in both series so that's a bonus. A raft of reasonable finishes( mostly top 10s) for Chris Evans in Vets so pleased with that. Gwyn Webb in Seniors broke into the top 10 with a 9th at the 3rd round of the summer series and hasn't stopped telling everyone yet.
Pictures will hopefully follow

Forest Of Dean Summer DH Series

Final results for the Forest Of Dean Summer DH series are out. Chris raced in the Veterans class and after doing 3 out of the 4 races he finished 4th overall, very very pleased with that.
Here's a couple of photos from races....

Round 4 (looks like I'm stationary and just leaning ready to fall over!)

Round 1

Thanks to the organisers for a great series, I'll definately be back next year

The centre for the food and support

the uplift for a brilliant service (all year round not just the races)

and finally the volunteers who make the trails happen (go on, give em a donation)

VOLT Electric Bikes

We are proud to be the local dealer of VOLT electric bikes in Swansea. VOLT have an amazing range of bikes to suit every cyclist and we keep a few of the most popular in stock so you can come and test ride a bike before buying from their website.  Your chosen bike is then delivered to our shop where we build it up ready for you to ride away.

All VOLT bikes come with a 2 year warranty and all electrical and technological components are maintenance free, which means you can bring your bike to us for servicing just like any other bike.

The Kensington step through was recently featured in the latest promotional video from the famous Joes Ice Cream Parlour (which is only a few doors down from our shop!) so check out the video to see the bike in action, and you can enter their competition to win a lifetimes supply of Joes Ice Cream! Don't forget us if you do :)

Racing Again :)

I've signed up for another one , this weekend is the opening round of the MIJ Downhill series at The Forest of Dean. Similar format to the 661/Naked Racing Mini DH (not actual naked racing though, it was winter and there's no way I'd be starkers in the middle of winter).

Here's the website MIJ RACING

Come along and laugh at us or maybe even join the racing.

Those are from the 2014/15 Naked Racing Mini DH

You may remember a while ago we added Molly the collie dog to the staff :)

Finally took her out for a ride over the weekend. Little bit nervous but went well in the end.

Here she is not going particularly quick along a section on the Wall trail at Afan.

If you're at a loose end then West Wales Trails are opening their bike park to the public tomorrow.

A short promo video of our new bike park produced by State of flow films for Carms RDP grants, btw I chopped it out of the full video of grant projects hence the slightly shonky ending.
